Michele Kucan

Michele is a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.  She attended Northern Illinois University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She then received her advanced practice degree at Ball State University in 1996.  Before joining Northwest Women’s Consultants in 1998, she practiced as a registered nurse at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center and in a women’s health private practice office.  Since beginning her practice with us, she has furthered her credentials to include colposcopy and cervical disease management.  She is also credentialed as a surgical first assistant.

Michele’s unique management style includes disease management, but her primary focus is disease prevention and wellness.  She believes in educating her patients and giving them all the information necessary to make their own healthcare decisions.  She has a special interest in interacting with teenage girls and addressing their healthcare needs, particularly contraception and sexually transmitted disease prevention.

Michele is an active member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.  She resides in the northwest suburbs with her husband and her son.  Her hobbies include running and NASCAR.
